The applications requiring industrial gaskets are virtually limitless: whenever fluid leakage needs to be prevented, mechanical components need to be joined, the passage of a liquid or gas needs to be blocked, or an environment or part of it needs to be isolated, a gasket can play a crucial role.
Industrial gaskets can be installed in valves, pumps, hydraulic cylinders, presses, compressors, rotating shafts, measuring instruments, engines, flanges, machine tools, casings, household appliances, and industrial machinery across various sectors.
To function effectively,
the material used to produce a gasket must possess specific characteristics:
It must resist chemical interaction with the contained fluid.
It should not corrode or damage the surfaces it contacts.
It must withstand operational pressures and temperatures.
It should have a low wear coefficient.
It must allow for proper fitting tolerances.
It should ensure minimal dimensional footprint.
IMA specializes in working with all types of thermoplastics. Among the most commonly used materials are PTFE, PA, PAEK, PE, PET, POM, PVC, PMMA, PP, PVDF, PCTFE, and PC. Additionally, LIMA produces components using special thermoplastic materials, which are especially required for critical applications and specific industries. These include ABS, FEP, PFA, PPS, PBT, PSU, PAI, and PEI. LIMA processes both virgin and reinforced materials. Among the most requested and widely used compounds are bronze, glass, ceramics, carbon graphite, carbon, talc, stainless steel, molybdenum disulfide, graphite, calcium fluoride, mineral salts, mica, fiberglass, carbon fiber, and polyester resin.
LIMA acts as an intermediary between suppliers of raw materials (tubes, sleeves, sheets, rods, strips) and customers who need plastic components, producing both standard and custom-designed parts. Starting from semi-finished products, we carry out mechanical processes such as turning, milling, cutting, drilling, and grinding to create the finished product required by the client. With decades of experience and cutting-edge technologies at our disposal, we can produce components with complex shapes and maintain very tight tolerances, down to one-hundredth of a millimeter.
LIMA also handles and sells stamped parts made from elastomeric materials (silicone, natural and special rubbers, polyurethane). When necessary, thanks to the large warehouse at our Bolgare (BG) facility, we can directly supply clients with semi-finished materials. Additionally, we offer contract manufacturing services on client-owned materials.
