What does it mean for a company to respect the environment? A company can choose to establish, implement, and maintain an Environmental Management System in order to control the environmental impact of its activities, both internally and externally to the organisation.
The environment refers to the context in which the company operates, including air, water, soil, natural resources, flora, fauna, humans, and their interrelationships. The company’s goal should be to avoid (or, if not possible, at least minimise) any negative changes to the environment caused, either partially or entirely, by its activities.
For this reason, LIMA has been certified according to the UNI EN ISO 14001 standard since 2013.
The UNI EN ISO 14001 standard is a globally recognised set of rules that companies implement to manage the environmental aspects related to their organisation, with the goal of reducing their impact on society.
The UNI EN ISO 14001 standard is based on a process model and focuses on legal compliance evaluation and harmonisation with the UNI EN ISO 9001 standard.
The certification body the company works with is IEC ITALIA, which provides third-party certification and inspection services for companies operating in industrial, commercial, professional, and service sectors, ensuring experience and competence in every field of accreditation.
IEC ITALIA is a member of ECG (European Certification Group), a global organisation specialised in accredited certification of management systems such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, and ISO 22000, as well as the training of auditors and consultants. IEC is accredited by UKAS and ACCREDIA.
UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation Service) is the only national accreditation body recognised by the UK government to assess, based on international standards, organisations that provide certification, testing, inspection, and calibration services. UKAS is globally recognised as one of the most authoritative accreditation bodies. ACCREDIA is the only national accreditation body in Italy, recognised by the Italian government, responsible for certifying that certification and inspection bodies and testing and calibration laboratories have the required competencies to evaluate compliance with standards.
Only with an effective and precise Quality Management System can a company guarantee its customers full compliance with the specifications and technical characteristics outlined during the order phase. Every material required for the production of our parts is accurately identified, traced, and stored in the warehouse.
Every waste product is managed in accordance with reference regulations, and separation methods are followed to ensure the proper collection of plastic waste from production. Plastic waste resulting from mechanical processes is sorted based on material type.
Every production phase is monitored for all environmental aspects. Air emissions are monitored, and periodic checks are carried out on water discharges. Internal audits are periodically conducted to verify the status of the Environmental Management System.
Every incoming material is checked and traced. Products used in production processes do not contain carcinogenic or hazardous substances harmful to health or the environment. We use consumables (oils, degreasers, solvents) that are properly identified and stored in designated areas, preventing accidental use or spillage. Every legal requirement is periodically reviewed and implemented.
The use of renewable energy sources allows the company to cover approximately 80% of its total energy needs. Every piece of data related to production and the use of energy and raw materials is recorded in the company’s management system and periodically analysed. A clean, organised, and healthy work environment is maintained. Periodic technical analyses are carried out concerning fire hazards, noise, explosive atmospheres, potential asbestos presence, electromagnetic fields, and chemical and carcinogenic risks.
Every supplier involved in environmental management is closely monitored. Integrated management of non-conformities and adverse environmental situations is ensured, with immediate corrective actions taken. Every employee is provided with the appropriate level of training and instruction. Periodically, company objectives for continuous improvement are set.
